I'm pretty sure most domesticated dogs, if untrained, are pretty damn useless. If you told my great danes to go hunt the boar right in front of them (something Great Danes were bred for) they'd probably try to play with it, then throw a doggy tantrum about how it's not plaaaaaying with them. And yes, they do tantrum... foot stomping, yelling, throwing themselves on the ground, the whole show. At this point a lot of domesticated dogs have had most of what made them useful bred out of them, save for certain tics like dachshunds being trackers and German Shepards being terrifyingly intelligent (we owned a house where the previous owners had a neglected Shepard... there were spots in our yard where you could see that he had eaten the outside wall)
